Our Story
Established in June 2005, PT. Lautan Lestari is an Indonesian shipping company. Our
journey began with a small fleet of wooden boats and have since upgraded our fleet ships made of steel in 2008. To cater to the repair and maintenance needs for our fleet, we acquired and developed a shipyard of our own in 2009, Lautan Lestari Shipyard. We are equipped with the best modern equipment and facilities to ensure quality is ensured in every building and repair project. As the business grew, so did our fleet and the demand for ship repair. 2014 marked the year when we established Lautan Lestari Niaga Shipyard, which currently employs around 1,000 staff members and yard workers. We offer freight charters, time charters, and trans-shipment services that cover nearly all of Asia, with a focus on serving industries such as mining, oil, construction, heavy equipment, and forwarding.

Our Shipping Network
Our shipping network is one of our key selling points. With over 100 vessels of
various sizes and capacities, we can transport goods to a wide range of destinations. Our network covers countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Our vast shipping network also allows us to offer flexible and efficient shipping solutions that ensures our all cargoes arrive at their destinations on time and in the best condition. Our Facilities
Sole proprietorship of our own shipbuilding and repair facilities provides us with greater flexibility that sets us apart in the shipping industry. We have the ability to maintain and repair our own fleet of vessels which ensures that they are always in excellent condition and performing at their best. Moreover, having our own shipyards allows us to provide faster and more efficient operational support for our vessels in the event of any unexpected incidents while in transit. This allows us to maintain the safety of our crew and cargo and minimise delays and costs during transportation. We are able to offer a high level of personalized service to our clients, ensuring that all their needs are catered to with the most competitive prices in the market. These factors sets us apart from other shipping companies and has been key to our success in the industry.
Lautan Lestari Shipyard – Sagulung
Established in 2009 to meet the demands of shipbuilding and repair, the shipyard covers an impressive area of 33,000 square meters and is equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment to support shipbuilding and repairs. With a 5,000-tonne capacity floating dock, a 40,000 square meter fabrication area, and a 2,500-tonne capacity crane, we are well-equipped to handle all our shipbuilding and repairing needs. We have around 500 skilled workers who are trained in shipbuilding, steel fabrication, and mechanical engineering, ensuring that vessels of all sizes can be catered to.
Lautan Lestari Niaga – Tanjung Uncang
Established in 2014, the yard boasts a 10,000-tonne capacity floating dock, a 50,000 square-meter fabrication area, and a 2,500-tonne capacity crane. In addition, we have equipped the yard with modern facilities and equipment to support shipbuilding and repairs. We are proud to employ around 1000 skilled workers who are well-trained in shipbuilding, steel fabrication, and mechanical engineering.
Our Fleet
We own and operate a fleet of modern and versatile ships that are designed to transport various types of cargo across different routes in Asia. Our fleet includes vessels such as Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT), barges, bulk carriers, container ships, general cargo ships and Crude Palm Oil (CPO) barges. These ships are equipped with advanced technology and safety features that ensure the safe and efficient transportation of goods and varies in size and capacities from 180ft to 440ft and 2500MT to 15500MT respectively. The wide range of sizes and capacities in our fleet enables us to cater to various industries that requires different shipping requirements.
